My Wrap Up and Favourites for 2016
Hello Everyone,
It's the last day of the year. For those that are reading this book blog for the first time; welcome.
I've had a good year of reading - for those that don't know, I started this book blog in March this year, and it's still surreal what a long way I've come from my first post.
I've been able to have the opportunity to read books that I wouldn't have normally had access to without having to buy them; and to all those authors that have provided me a copy in exchange for an honest review - a HUGE thank you!
I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has read this blog and that has also had a hand in bringing some new readers to this book blog, I most certainly wouldn't be where I am without you!
For the past two months or so, the number of views on my blog has climbed - and I'm happy to announce that I now have over 10 000 views, so thank you so much!
I plan on expanding this blog next year, so I'm hoping to have a good year with this blog next year. I'm also going to be doing my first cover reveal next year, so keep an eye out for that!
And now it's time for...
FAVOURITES:
I've somehow managed to read 65 books this year, so I'm going to give a list of all the five star books that I've read this year. After listing my favourites, I'll also be including books that surprised me as well, though I'll elaborate more on that after the favourites:
- Bonds of Love & Blood by Marylee MacDonald
- Pumpkintown Perils: Volume One by Aubrey Law
- The Hidden Genes of Professor K by Gabriel Farago
- Always & Eternal by Lindy Dale
- A Thorne for a Crown by Lorel Clayton
- Giant Killers by Steve Lawson
- Sister Dear by Laura McNeill
- Liberty and Means by Kristin Dow
- Even Solomon by VK Lynne
- Minor: Volume One by Meghan McDonnell
- Limbo: Volume Three by Meghan McDonnell
- Raven's Peak by Lincoln Cole
- Love in an Elevator by Aven Ellis and others
- Becoming Phoebe by Michael J. Neal
- The Customer is Always Wrong by C.C. Standish
- Moondance by Diane Chandler
- Montpelier Tomorrow by Marylee MacDonald
- That Girl by Leslie DJ
- Three & Out by Laura Chapman
- Eyes of Autumn by Cynthia H. Wise
- All I Want for Christmas by Laura Chapman and others (Only available in paperback)
- The Partner by John Grisham
- The Marrying Type by Laura Chapman
- TheLast Valentine by Felix Alexander
Here are some interesting tidbits about the list above: Out of all of these books, only three of these books got read for leisure, the rest are all books I read for review; out of 65 books; only 24 got five star ratings from me (which is what I listed above); and the first book that I read for review was Montpelier Tomorrow by Marylee MacDonald.
SURPRISES:
Basically, these are books that I was at first neutral about, but that surprised me with either the characters, the plot or a little bit of both. There's only two books that I'm going to mention here, that I've already mentioned in my list above, and they are:
- Moondance by Diane Chandler
- The Last Valentine by Felix Alexander
To those of you reading this, I hope you have a great new year and an awesome 2017!
Wishing you all the best!
Hope you had an awesome year of reading!
Chat Soon,
Carmen.
